10 places to travel in Canada

Sometimes we get so excited by international travel, that we forget to travel in our own backyard. This is a mistake, as Canada has some of the most incredible scenery in the world-just ask the many tourists who travel from all over the world to visit.

If you’d like to keep your travel domestic this year, or you’re looking for some travel inspiration, here are 10 places to travel in Canada:

Quebec City

There’s a reason more than 4.5 million visitors are heading to Quebec each year. Named the most romantic city in North America, it’s also home to the No. 1 Street to Visit in Canada: Rue du Petit Champlain. The city is full of boutique shops, cobbled streets, centuries-old churches, and art galleries.

Banf

Banf is like experiencing the lifestyle of a Swiss skiing village in Canada. Located in the heart of the Rockies, you’ll find plenty of backpackers as well as those who like to be adventurous during the day, and stay somewhere nice at night.

Toronto

Toronto is the capital of Ontario, and the most populated city in Canada. Not to mention it’s also one of the biggest cities in North America. Here you’ll find plenty of different ethnic districts such as China town, Little Italy, and Little India, making it one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world.

Niagra Falls

Often known as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World,” it’s no secret that the falls are much more impressive on the Canadian side. It’s also becoming a popular destination for family vacations.

Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as a geological wonder, and you’ll be able to see an area where the earth’s mantle is exposed. The park itself is gorgeous, with cliffs, lakes, and waterfalls.

Long Beach, Tofino

This beach was named the “best surf beach in North America” by Outside magazine, and it certainly lives up to its name, drawing surfers from around the world.

Churchill, Manitoba

Animal lovers will be in their element in Churchill, which is famous for its polar bears. It even has a polar bear jail, where they keep the bears who like to wander into town.

Halifax

Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia, and this charming city is famous for the amazing hospitality of the people. Here you’ll find an oceanside location, sandy beaches, and historic architecture.

Montreal

Influenced by both French and English, Montreal is an energetic and unique city, with all of the modern conveniences we love, as well as plenty of quaint, historic experiences.

Whistler

The Whistler resort is the most famous ski destination in North America. Whistler is also great year-round though, and you’ll be smitten with the charming villages and plenty of tourist attractions.
