The Best Hotel Rewards Programs for Business Travellers

While there isn’t one hotel loyalty program which is best for business travellers, there are some which simply stand out from the rest. Some offer extra points for free nights, while others give member-only perks such as free amenities. You’ll want to choose the best program for your business travel style, and one which will best fit your needs.

Here are the best hotel rewards programs for business travellers:

Marriott Rewards

The Marriott Rewards program is great for both leisure and business travellers visiting major cities in Canada, Asia, Europe, and the US. Once you’re a member you earn points whenever you stay at one of their 18 affiliated brands, which includes Courtyard Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and Residence In. You can also earn additional points if you sign up for one of Chase Visas’s Marriott Rewards credit cards.

If you use points to book a consecutive four-night stay you’ll receive a night free, and you can also use points for dining and spa gift cards or merchandise.

IHG Rewards Club

The InterContinental Hotel Group is a good rewards program for those who are frequently in major cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, London, New York, and Miami. You’ll earn rewards at more than 4,600 properties, which include Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites, and Holiday Inn hotels. There is also a large variety of different ways to accumulate your points, including buying things online, and airline flights.

The Best Western Rewards program is excellent for business travellers who are also budget-minded. You’ll be able to earn points using the Best Western partner services, which include everything from flower delivery to car rentals, and can also use a Best Western Rewards MasterCard to earn points. Best Western is also affiliated with a number of airlines, including American and Southwest, so you can redeem points for miles.

The SPG program is primarily for business travellers, and especially those who are usually traveling to major cities in Asia, Europe, and the United States, however there has been a greater presence in South America, the Middle East, and Africa lately.

The Starwood group has 9 different brands, from mid-range to luxury, and points can be accrued by using a Starwood Preferred Guest credit card, or through the Delta Sky miles program.
