Why Fly Business Class?

If you’re a business traveller, you may have had the opportunity to fly business at least once before. However your company may not believe in these perks, and instead you may find yourself stuck in economy with everyone else.

But if you’re consistently flying for travel, you should hopefully be a member of a number of air point programs, and can then find yourself eligible for free upgrades or purchase them with your points. If it’s a long-haul flight you may even want to splurge and pay for business class yourself.

Here are some reasons why you should fly business class:

You’ll be Alert when you arrive

Flying economy can leave you feeling like you’ve been run over by a truck. If you do manage to get some sleep it will be in a weird up-right position which is pretty much guaranteed to give you a crick in your neck. And that’s not even taking the babies, toddlers, and loud passengers into consideration.

Flying business allows you to get some much-needed rest. Studies have shown that we have poor decision-making skills when we’re tired, which can be bad news for that important meeting in Hong Kong. Airlines have outdone themselves recently with different configurations which give you space, privacy, and quiet, and let you lie completely flat. There’s nothing better than waking up feeling completely rested and ready to hit the ground running on the other side.

You’ll actually eat well

If you’ve ever lifted back the foil of an airplane meal in economy, wrinkled your nose and pushed it away, only to give in a few minutes later because, let’s face it, it’s a long flight and you need to eat, you’ll notice the difference in business class.

The food is superior in every way, often prepared by chefs, and both nutritional and delicious. In economy, the food is often loaded with sodium (often to give it some sort of taste) which can dehydrate you even more in the air and give you an upset stomach. Compare that to business class where you’ll eat like a king (or queen), with mouth-watering food matched with the best wines and followed by scrumptious dessert, and you can see why business class is so popular.

You’ll be treated better

It’s a sad fact, but with business status also often comes better service. Along with more comfort and better food, you’re more likely to be kept in the loop and told what’s going on if there are any cancellations and delays, and you may find that airport staff go out of their way to get you on that next flight.

While having a travel agent on your side is also a good way to ensure that you don’t end up spending a night sleeping in the airport, business class passengers are also treated to priority boarding, lounge access, priority immigration, priority security, and first shot at disembarking.
